GOT7’s Youngest Member Yugyeom Announces Enlistment, Shares Emotional Letter to Fans

 

GOT7 member Yugyeom is set to begin his mandatory military service on September 29, 2025, AOMG confirmed on Friday. Selected as a specialized recruit, Yugyeom will first complete basic training before serving in the army band.

Ahead of his enlistment, Yugyeom personally shared a handwritten letter addressed to his fans, affectionately called “Ahgase.” In the letter, he expressed deep gratitude for their support over the years and reassured them of his well-being during his service. He wrote, “Whenever you see the moon—whether full, crescent, or half—think of me. If you miss me, listen to my songs… I’ll look at the same moon, thinking of all of you, and work hard while I’m away.”

AOMG emphasized that the time and location of the enlistment ceremony will not be disclosed to ensure safety and prevent crowding. Fans are asked not to attend, and no separate fan event will be held on the day.
